HARVARD SCHOLARS
This is a portal to scholars related to the nonprofit sector in China at Harvard and other universities in Cambridge, MA.
Scholars may be relevant in the following ways:
- The role of nonprofits in different fields in China: Such as environment, public health, human rights, poverty alleviation, women’s rights, disability issues, education, etc. The role of citizen sector in those areas in China is not necessarily as obvious as those American 501 (c) 3 organizations. It is a fascinating exploration to find out existing social entities in the Chinese society (such as woman’s association) playing the role of a nonprofit in the western sense.
- Political science or historian’s perspective on civil society, democracy, and role of media: Using perspectives of nonprofit organization offers new perspectives and new understandings.
