The Consultative Conference on International Criminal Justice, United Nations Headquarters, New York, September 9 – 11 2009

Throughout 2009, the Hauser Center collaborated with the International Criminal Court, the Coalition for an International Criminal Court, the International Center for Transitional Justice and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation on in a year-long effort to support effective, sustained collaboration between NGOs, national governments, regional courts, and global organizations in the shared goal of strengthening and aligning the plans and strategies of key actors in the system of international criminal justice.

As part of this year-long program of work, the Hauser Center organized and convened the first Consultative Conference on International Criminal Justice at United Nations headquarters in September 2009. The role of NGOs in relation to state and non-state actors in advancing peace and justice was a key focus threading throughout the Consultative Conference, charting a clear agenda for a more focused conversation among civil society organizations.

The domain engaged faculty, fellows, and students from the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Law School in this collaboration across the network of international justice players.
