Position Summary:
The Hauser Center New Media Fellowship will provide a current Kennedy School student the opportunity to collaborate with faculty, researchers, and staff, to assist directly in creation of content and implementation of new media initiatives at the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations. The Fellowship will involve a variety of tasks from administration to strategic planning to be integrated into the Center’s work across all of the programmatic focus areas (which include: philanthropy, international humanitarian and development NGOs, justice and human rights, and nonprofits in China).

The position will start in August 2010 and is available to applicants accepted to a Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy program at the Harvard Kennedy School. It will run through May 2011. The Fellowship includes a $15,000 tuition reimbursement. Students with unmet financial need will be prioritized.

Position overview:
The New Media Fellow will work with the Hauser Center’s Manager of New Media to integrate, disseminate, manage and and track online content including video, social media affiliate groups and, Google Adwords for nonprofits. The role will focus on helping to develop the strategic integration and management of social media accounts across various new media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube Custom channels, iTunes University, and create other social media accounts. The fellow will also be responsible for updating and overseeing content and workflows used in social media efforts and their integration toward Center Goals.

Experience:
This position requires deep interest in Internet and social media, strong writing skills, and basic video editing skills. Interest and experience with nonprofit organizations, with preference for those with an interest in continuing in the field upon graduation. Sense of humor appreciated.
